No. There is no childcare provided and children are not allowed to attend the course or be brought to the host home. This includes nursing babies. Think of this as a "date night" where you get to spend time with your spouse exclusively. Please arrange childcare for the entire 10 weeks.
Yes. Each class has exactly 7 couples. There is a coach couple, an assistent coach couple and 5 participant couples.
No. Once the couples have been selected for a specific class, it is locked for those 7 couples for the entire 10-weeks. It is crucial, if you commit to attend one of the courses, you understand you are agreeing to attend every class in its entirity. There is typically a waiting list of couples desiring to get into a class. Once you commit, that class is closed and no other couples can join it.
No the registration fee is non-refundable. Remember, if you start the class and drop out, that prevents any other couples from joining that class and your fellow course participants miss out on the value of having your input, experiences and fellowship. We know occasionally "life happens". But we ask you please make a good-faith effort to know you can commit before doing so. It is better to not join than to join and not be able to fulfill your commitment. Remember, YOU are worth investing in, your MARRIAGE is worth investing in. This may be the first time you've ever really invested into the most important human relationship in your life. You will get out of it what you invest.
No. Those who are seeking are welcome. But in full-disclosure, it is largely a Bible-based, faith-based approach to the marriage relationship. Therefore, there will be many biblical examples and Bible scripture quoted during the course.
Absolutely not! This is merely a course that includes teaching with practical ways to solve conflict, communicate effectively, and learn what the BIble has to say about Covenant marriage. The leadership of this program and its coaches do not claim to have any expertise in the areas of professional counseling or medical treatment inside the scope of this course. If you feel you need professional intervention, we highly recommend you seek treatment from a health care professional.
No. While many, if not most of the coaches likely attend a local Christian church on a regular basis, there is no denominational affiliation.
The course was designed to run 10 consecutive weeks, without a break. Occasionally, if your class falls on a holiday your coaches can make the decision to push a meeting back a week. The lessons build on each other, so it is vital you make an effort to attend each week.
Typically no. However, coaches are given the option to offer one time during the course an individual make-up class, if there are RARE extenuating circumstances where a couple has to miss. This seldom happens and is at the sole discretion of the coaches. Having said that, we also highly encourage one of the spouses to attend even if the other spouse has a legitimate reason to miss a class. But this should rarely happen and never more than once during the 10-week course.
Absolutely! In the beginning of a course, couples are asked to sign a commitment letter that includes a pledge to keep anything shared in the group confidential. NO EXCEPTIONS! We take privacy VERY serious. Couples need to be a place of safety, where you are free to be open and vulnerable. The best growth takes place when we can all be open and honest.
